West Coyote Hills Home

Sensitive design developed in coordination with Federal Species Experts

To protect wildlife and habitat, Pacific Coast Homes worked closely with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to design the overall plan. The result: more than half of the property will be preserved and protected as natural open space.

Some of the plan's sensitive design elements include:

  • Preserving important canyons and ridgelines, including the sand cliffs adjacent to Ralph B. Clark Park
  • Preserving habitat to support the California gnatcatcher - a small songbird that is protected by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
  • Carefully locating home sites to protect quality habitat
  • Funding for long-term monitoring and maintenance of habitat areas
  • Use of water detention basins and wetland vegetation to filter and manage stormwater runoff
